•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Ability to read, analyze, translate, and interpret correspondence and documents in both the Japanese and English language.
•Minimum 24 months work-related experience in office administration.
•Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
•Ability to perform basic math functions; data recording, processing, and reporting; oral and written communication; leadership; and problem-solving.
•Must be able to perform work in a standard office environment with extensive employee contact and frequent interruptions.
•Must be able to work in manufacturing areas with exposure to high noise levels, welding fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
•Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for long periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, reach, crouch, and twist; to lift, carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive motion including the use of a computer keyboard; to travel to domestic and international locations using various modes of transportation; and verbally exchange information.
•Availability for overnight travel (domestic & international); Travel at any time on short notice.
•Must be able to work overtime on short notice or as needed.
•Must also be flexible to provide after-hours assistance and project support as needed.

Scope of responsibilities

•Translate, proof-read, edit, and revise documents from English to Japanese and Japanese to English. This will require the translation of technical terms and terminology related to customer product and manufacturing processes and equipment.
•Interpret oral communications between Japanese and English speaking colleagues.
•Travel with or guide colleagues who speak the Japanese/English language.
•Perform duties as specified in the Production Engineering Business Plan.
•Perform day-to-day tasks related to financial planning, personnel training, record-keeping, data entry, maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment, creating purchase orders, maintaining documents and forms, and other administrative and clerical tasks.
•Facilitate procedural requirements for the PE Section as well as provide ideas to improve existing or implement new procedures; and improvements to quality and customer satisfaction.
•Maintain and update supplier information including but not limited to new supplier set-up, supplier contact information, supplier certification expiry, confidentiality agreements.
