Job description: 
The Material Control Manager is responsible for all aspects of production control management, including supervision of production control planners, material control planners, material forecasts, MRP, ordering raw materials and components, expediting and tracking supply materials, and 100% on-time delivery to customers.
• Utilize principles of TPS/Lean Manufacturing, JIT and Kan-Bans to maintain low inventory levels while satisfying all internal and external customers
• Work closely with production managers, supervisors, and coordinators to support manufacturing
• Work with design and production engineering for new and continuing products and processes
• Work with SQA for resolution of supplier problems
• Supervise production control planners, material control planners
• Ensure company can meet 100% on-time delivery for customers through production and inventory control systems at the lowest possible cost
• Review MRP reports, and place purchase orders and material releases for domestic and international orders of raw materials, components, and assemblies; maintain lowest possible costs for transportation and expediting
• Utilize TPS and Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce costs, including JIT inventory using Kan-Ban replenishment methods; learn and instruct Lean Manufacturing concepts throughout the supply chain
• Work with the Engineering Department to determine new parts and obsolete parts to insure adequate advance planning for change-point control; use systematic methods for build-out control and to prevent obsolescence
• Schedule and oversee transportation of raw material deliveries and finished goods shipments; monitor and reduce cost of transportation while maintaining high degree of reliability and serviceability
• Review shortage reports and conduct meetings to monitor critical inventories and schedules on a regular basis; insure adequate communications through trials, SOP, mass production, and build-out timing of products
• Create procedures and work instructions and insure adequate training for associates to perform their roles as needed; reduce headcount and re-allocate resources as needed to reduce costs

Qualification requirements: 
• BS degree
• 8+ years of experience in production and material control involving multi-level BOM and automated MRP II systems, specifically BPCS
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office
