EWIS Components Senior Engineer - AS452

Work location: Nagoya, Japan; travel to systems supplier sites
Job description: 
Conduct a wide range of EWIS certification activities for assigned regulations including coordinating with regulatory agencies, contracted suppliers, and all other aircraft functional and engineering teams for tasks contributing to EWIS development assurance and certification
Senior engineer as part of the EWIS Design and Certification Group. This activity includes:
• Evaluating current aircraft designs with respect to compliance with EWIS-related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA, and EASA
• Writing and executing assigned portion of EWIS group certification plan
• Coordinating approval of type design data and verification reports related to agreed certification deliverables for T/C
• Support validation and verification of compliance-related requirements and perform analysis of designs including review of ground and flight tests, reviews, inspections, and other system reports
• Prepare and review documents defining aircraft environment and approved part usage
• Preparation and approval of testing required for components and EWIS harness assembly qualifications
• Review and approve manufacturing processes related to EWIS harness assembly construction and installation
• Procure QTP, QTR, or similar reports from EWIS component suppliers
• Create QTP and conduct qualification tests, prepare QTR and QSAR (Qualification Similarity Analysis Report)
• Perform certification audits during verification report approval flow
• Determine and update qualification requirements of EWIS components
• Define strategies for EWIS component qualification
• Propose alternative parts to reduce weight and/or cost
Responsibilities for multiple tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiate and review related documents, technical calculations; interface discussions with team members and all other stakeholders including: systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners
• Lead and participate with regulatory authorities (JCAB, FAA, EASA) in meetings to present company position
• Coach and educate company EWIS team members with professional knowledge
• Interface with suppliers as appropriate, including review of non-standard EWIS part design
• Provide technical expertise and assist in resolving EWIS issues during any rig testing, manufacturing, or installation
