Qualification Engineer - AS427



Work location: Komaki, Aichi, Japan
Job description: 
• Creation of avionics qualification test plan and test reports
• Review and validation of test plans, test procedures, test reports, TSOs and QSARs
• Optimization of qualification scheduling
• Interaction with aviation authorities
• Interaction with suppliers

Responsibilities: 
• Analyze qualification test documentation, provide expertise to avionics systems relating to RTCA/DO-160 environmental qualifications
• Evaluating supplier QT data against DO-160 and RJ requirements
• Participation in avionic test plan analysis
• Coordinate with avionics design team, electromagnetic effects group, and suppliers to resolve open items or deviations (QTP, QTR, QSAR, TSO)
• Closure of TSOA, QTR, QSAR findings and deviations
• Identify additional tests required for qualification and prepare appropriate documentation (RFQ, QTplan, QTP, QTR) to assure compliance of test plans and data with standards
• Provide critical thinking to optimize existing processes; propose process updates; submit changes and track progress until fully implemented
• Provide experience and critical thinking to create new efficient processes

Travel required: Up to five days per week
Qualification requirements: 
• 5+ years' experience with commercial, business, or military aircraft; proficient with environmental qualifications per DO-160 including certification processes
• 5+ years of broad avionics engineering experience, specific to company testing and certification testing (rig, ground, flight)
• Experience with certification activities pertinent to Part 25 aircraft with FAA, EASA, JCAB
• Experience with TSO, QSAR test procedures and reports
• Experience with test equipment and systems
• Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment of a global company
• Ability to communicate decisively across multiple levels of responsibility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Attention to detail, self-driven and impeccable follow-through
• Strong personal and professional ethics
• Work under limited supervision; should only require review for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives
