Job description: 
ATA 27 Flight Control System Engineer:
Development and analyses of flight control system actuation requirements; includes interfacing with various other aircraft functional and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain approval for assigned tasks, ultimately contributing to flight control system development and certification
• Design and test servo-hydraulic flight control actuators for fly-by-wire aircraft platform
• System design, requirements management, systems specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, verification and validation testing, aircraft flight testing, aircraft system qualification and certification

• Fundamental understanding of aircraft system development principles, including SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761
• Assimilate aircraft-level, system-level, and equipment-level requirements, in addition to associated validation evidence using IBM Rational DOORS, in accordance with substantiated monitor design details
• Apply knowledge of certification methodology, regulatory guidance, and industry standards to design safety-critical functions
• Define primary and secondary flight control system schematics and architecture
• Develop component-level requirements derived from top-level system requirements
• Perform clean-sheet component layouts for flight control systems supporting schematic architecture
• Perform kinematic studies and system performance analyses for powered flight control systems
• Collaboration with the integrated product team to resolve cross-functional issues
• Review work performed by others to ensure highest standards are met
• Implement industry-best engineering practices (design for manufacturing, design for reliability and design for maintainability)
• Ability to generate flight control certification documents to support design and qualification requirements
• Implement design solutions optimized for cost and weight
• Manage task execution to ensure on-time and on-target completion
• Search for problem root causes and develop corrective action plans and solutions
• Serve as a primary interface within the flight control systems group to ensure effective communication, coordination, and timely completion of project milestones
• Lead and participate in design and development reviews with management and internal customers; deliver technical presentations effectively to a diverse and demanding audience
• Investigate and resolve production line build issues and be familiar with material review board processes
